Donating Crowns
How to Donate Crowns:
Before we begin – a general note: donating crowns is NOT an expectation of any guild member at any time ever – it is however a great way for the guild to give out fun prizes or make money to support the guild trader. Donations of Crowns count at a rate of 1200:1 for Platinum Pincer status.
Option 1) Purchase a steam gift card in the amount of the crowns you intend to gift and provide it to @HellWhyNot. This can be done directly through steam you just need to add @HellWhyNot as a friend
Why is this preferred? It allows us to gift the crowns on a timeline that is optimal for the guild to get the most benefit (e.g. a live auction, major guild event, etc.) as opposed to doing it in the short term. People quit the game or life happens and sometimes we run in to situations where someone promises to cover a crown gift, but then disappears, when this happens, The guild is left footing the bill for something we may not have offered otherwise to ensure we keep our guilds commitments. This also allows people who don’t have gifting turned on for the game to donate crowns.
Option 2) Ensure you have gifting turned on on your account (go in-game, go to crownstore, pick any item and hover over it until you see the ‘gift’ icon and then click it. If you can gift, it will tell you) and purchase or have the Crowns in the account in question. Once you are sure you can gift and you have the crowns, reach out to @HellWhyNot via discord to discuss how much you want to donate.
Post-Donation Logistics
- If you donated via gift card, there is no further action needed on your end! We will take care of distribution and let you know where the crowns went / credit you for them appropriately!
- If you are donating via the gifting process, we will let you know when and where the crowns will be used and will confirm with you who they should go to. You will then let us know when you have confirmed delivery.
Common Guild Usages of Crowns
- As an Auction Lot in our Monthly Auction – usually 5000 crown minimum.
- As a Raffle Prize in our Weekly Raffle or for a special raffle – usually 1500 minimum.
- As a Competition Prize in one of our many contests we host monthly and quarterly.
If you have a specific idea in mind of how you would like your crowns to be used, please let us know and we will attempt to accommodate it!
Please note that for any LARGE giveaways of crowns (e.g. 10,000 or more) we require that you use Option 1 to ensure we can deliver on what we promise to guildies.
Farming Events
You may have noticed that our guild runs multiple weekly farming competitions to support our guild trader. This post is about explaining how they work and how to set yourself up for success at each type of event.
Mat Farm Event
We gather up to 12 players (or more!) who all choose to harvest as many materials as they can in a 1 hour timed period. All harvested materials are then donated to the guild. It’s a great way to get rid of your unused crafting surveys! This event uses Dolgubuns Lazy Farming (don’t forge the dependencies) to make your life easier. The winner is provided 250 raffle tickets and another random participant is provided 200 raffle tickets.
Fish Farm Event
For the Fish Farm event we gather up to 12 players (or more!) who all choose to harvest as many fish (and assorted drops like satchels and furnishings) as they can in a 1 hour timed period. All harvested materials are then donated to the guild. The winner is provided 250 raffle tickets and another random participant is provided 200 raffle tickets.
For each of these events, there are “optimal” ways to approach them to give you the best chance of winning AND the most optimal contribution for the guild. This thread is an encapsulation of how to do that. Note: none of these are required to do to participate in the event, but you will likely find them helpful.
Mat Farm Tips Build Setup
Use unidentified materials surveys to find large groups of resources all at once.
-if you have the Plentiful Harvest CP unlocked, you can get free surveys to find from the event Host
Create a “Gathering/Crafting” Armory Build, this build should have the following things:
- Bought from Champion Points Green Plentiful Harvest (50/50), Steed’s Blessing (50/50), and Master Gatherer (75/75) these will make you move faster on foot, gather more materials, and gather quicker. If you have extras, the next thing you want is Mount Speed Increase (Gifter Rider 50/50)
- Get movement speed increasing skills and/or sets (e.g. Adept Rider crafted set 5/5, Ring of the Wild Hunt Mythic, Medium Armor Sprint Bonuses) to make it easier for you to move around even faster on foot.
- Slot “The Steed” Mundus Stone
- Slot Stamina Food all points in Stamina to increase duration of your sprint
Download HarvestMap
- HarvestMap will show you all available resources in your area (you turn filters on and off on your Map).
- You can then go to settings in Harvest Map and turn on the option to only see active resources
Best Zones to Gather in
- Craglorn (because of ability to get Nirncrux)
- Any starter zone (e.g. Bleakrock, Khenarthi) due to high concentration of resources in a small area.
